Teaching is shaped by the student’s current needs, previous learning and submitted work. New knowledge and strategies are explicitly taught before students apply them through guided and increasingly independent practice.

Each task is carefully selected to reinforce recent teaching or reveal the student’s next priority. Students practise applying their learning without immediate tutor support, developing the independence required in school and examination settings.
